Static IP Address

We just launched some of the DT 366's into the field and the end users are having some issues configuring them for a Static IP. They are currently running XPe so it's not hard to set it up for static IP; however everything I have tried has failed. Does anyone have any insight as to why this may not be working? They only have problems when they have them connected to the vehicle mounted cradles and using hardwired network. Wireless seems to work fine.
