its called Microxp.. read though all the posts. The drivers to it are linked somewhere in one of them. Just find a download of microxp and burn it off.

I am getting sick of this.  I loaded XPe, it isn't any better than linux (or 98, or NT) as far as what applications , drivers, etc it will run.

So far nothing I have tried runs as good as the CE5 it came with.

All I want is a PDF viewer that will run on this thing, how hard is that??

I am about to put it back on Ebay at a discount to what i paid for it to get rid of the POS.

I don't know anything about xpe. I never took the time to try it..

MicroXP will work for what you need. all the drivers work for the dt366

I was confused by the fact that a search for microxp gets all sorts of XPe hits on microsoft's web site

OK, I found some drivers that more or less work.

There is one more thing I want to do, I want to use the 4 way rocker button to move the cursor instead of the mouse.

(not the arrow up/ down/ sideways it already has as that only works between icons in whatever window you are in, I want to use it just like a mouse)

I loaded a mouse emulator that works thru the num pad on the on screen keyboard (had to copy the keyboard from XP Pro as it is not included in this OS) but the button manager seems to want to link to an executable.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

one other thing I have discovered - with all the drivers installed the HD is mostly full, and the disk cleanup & defrag utilities are not included.

I was able to plug a CF card into another PC & install some programs on it that I need, so you can sort of get around that issue, as there is not enough room to install to the CF from the HD

Going to try to make some room & copy the cleanup utilities later this evening.

I have no doubts You may have found Microxp  listed at xpe under microsofts website. XPe is embedded. It is for all means and purposes a micro os. What you need to understand is MicroXP is a hacked version of windows xp made to be smaller. It's not a legal copy of xp. Xp won't support it.

I don't want the offshore support, I haven't used it in years as I always knew more than "Joe" from Mumbai if he was less than third tier support,

But I figure MicroXP is legal if you have an unused license to hang it on, I know several Fortune 500 companies that do this regularly on modified systems

you get no support with Microxp except for what you can get online from a non payed individual not associated with microsoft.
