it runs on ram and after boot you can remove the usb if i understand correctly but i think it requires usb 2.0 to run right. Any who I have no clue but it only needs 128 ram so perhaps it might be a distro someone might like to look at. i think its slackware based.

austrumi has been in my toolbox for years. it has some neat features however like all "live" linux distributions unless the developer made some kind of package management or persistent change capability adding the needed touchscreen drivers will be an undertaking.
