I don't think energy consumption is at play here. The USB on the device is only USB 1.0, making it terribly slow to run an OS. Speed is what they are after here, along with a larger drive capacity.
Nothing is ever easy, but if it is difficult you must be doing it wrong.

my 366 has LX series CPU which comes with USB 2.0 chipset. Watch the video of me booting full blown 1.5 GB xp install in under a minute in the other thread and then playing quake 2.

Hey guys, I think I am going to try the 1.8" Zif drive on the JHDD2 bus. I have removed the CF socket and soldered it in place. I ordered the 1.8" ZIF Drive from ebay, We will see what happens.
Are there any bios changes I need to make? Any sugesstions? I will let everyone know the outcome.
