Hey all!!

Thanks tbowland for selling me the WebDT366, and to the help of Wartex, Valdi, "Vasko", Quotaholic, and to all the others who's posts I've read through.  I now have my Webdt366 running a full install of windows XP SP3 "Thanks Wartex!"on the 8gb transcend module.  I removed pin 43 and also (44 by accident!) on the female connector of the transcend module like Quotaholic did his pin 43.  Vasko pointed out that PIN 44 on the 512MB APACER module was not used, so the motherboard can send anything to this pin, from 0V to 3.6V.  The problem is, is that the 8GB Transcend NAND module expects GND ( 0V , ground ) on the same pin 44.  So he recommended that I warp it out.  Since I had filed the module down and pin 44 was gone due to my failed attempt to bend it out of the way after removing its plastic cover.. "Can you say Monkey Fist?" and is now possibly dead.. :o.  I figured what the hell, it couldn't hurt to still try, either it would work or there was $124 US I just wasted.  I put it all together with electric tape covering the modules removed pins 43 & 44 solder points, but it didn't see the NAND during boot.. :'(.  As I was about to give up, I text ed  Vasko with my dilemma.  He said to still wrap pin 44 even though it wasn't touching anything.  So I covered it with some high temp electric type putty.  Just rolled up a little snot ball pushed it onto pin 44, put everything back together and Ill be damned!!!  I was a proud father of 8GB Weddt366..... ;D.  WeeHoooo!!!!!!  Its been running without a hitch for the past week now so I guess its gonna be OK!! I have also added a 8GB CF and I'm trying to get it to house the pagfile using USBoot phase-0.  But I don't think it is working.  I'm still messing with it, Wartex said after looking at the modules spec's that its capable of 2million writes and that it should last at least a year depending how much I use it.  I have made the suggested BIOS changes too.  I'm hoping to see someone "cough cough Wartex" MOD the internal USB connection to add a USB flash drive placing it internally, but not lose the use of the external plug.  I'm also curious as to what that second plug is on the motherboard just under the NIC.  Is it IDE, CF, is it usable with an extension wire of some sort?  Well anyway, here are the pictures for you guys to see.  There are some redundant and large file sized pictures. "Sorry".  Later all  ;D

Glad you got it working. I don't mess with windows too much but your post brought back a memory from about a year ago. Someone putting together a XPE image was talking about EWF as a way to move certain things to the CF card. Wondering if it would work for moving the pagefile for you? Most indications say that it works with WXP Pro.

After looking at the data sheet on your chip it looks to be of the same pin out as the ones mentioned in this thread. Meaning that you may have to remove a pin. Easy way to tell is to install it and try to boot. If your tablet does not boot then yes you will have to remove pin 43 either from the chip or on the DT itself.

I installed the TRANSCEND 4GB unit today - works perfectly in my DT366 GX and the LX as well.  I didn't like shaving it but I went slow and it all worked out fine.  I found it on EPAY here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0499921635

The original module in the GX was not marked but the LX unit had a manufacturer ID and part number from here:

http://us.apacer.com/products/ADMIII-44P-90D

There is a PDF with lots of info on the modules.  They do not sell retail.  Mouser has the 8GB part if you want 50 of them.

Since my original module is 5v, I ordered an 8gb module from Super Talent - these are cheap:
http://www.supertalent.com/products/ssd ... p?type=FDM#

I'll report back when I receive it - most likely after Christmas.

I just received my dt366's!  Thanks TBowland.  Doing a search for ide flash and found this http://www.e-itx.com/apacer-adm3-44p-90d-nj-5.html.  Looks to be the same boards that are installed but more capacity .  Anyone used these?  No shaving and no cutting sounds good to me. ;D  I have not looked @ all the specs yet but I will research more when I get home and can look @ whats installed.

It's working great !. I have removed pin 44, cut a little bit this blask plug (it's easier than I thought - I used sharp knife), and installed Win XP SP2. It took me about 20 min. I bought my DOM:
http://rocart.pl/pl/transcend-ide-flash ... r-smi.html

It's only 2GB - but, for XP it's enough (CF card is cheaper - so I only need DOM disk for system) - and I don't see a reason to buy expensiv HDD (ssd) to so cheap tablet.

I have a bunch of these units and I am looking to have 6 of them upgraded to 1 or 4 gigs. Anyone interested in doing this for me for a fee?

i have done as said and made the NAND FLASH to fit.
