I am having a blast with my new Cisco g card, model number:

AIR-CB21AG-A-K9

Got it off Amazon for 24 bucks used and it has an atheros chip in it.

Slackware 12.2 picked up and associated the ath5k_pci driver on second reboot. Much faster than the 350 card and well worth the 24 dollars.

Oh and I have wep-psk working through wicd network manager

Which version was it:-
rev 01s (mainly made in taiwan) use the AR5212 chip
rev 02s (made in china) use an AR5213 chip

Thanks

I have an Ambicom Compact flash wifi card installed and working on my DT360 which is running linux. I used Debian "Lenny" for a distribution and built the firmware and firmware helper (loader) from the libertas_cs wiki. In wicd network manager I have "eth0" identified as the network interface. It works well. Had to add "libertas_cs" to /etc/modules for modprobing on boot aka loading of driver.

Also worth noting is that one can tether ip over bluetooth on linux with the application "blueman".
