Drivers & BtnAgent

I am in the final stage of installing a full version of XP on my DT366, but have run into a few issues. :o

It is asking for drivers for an entertainment encryption/decryption controller, and an unknown device.

Also when I try to run the btnagent I receive the following message No SP_Interface_Device _Data available for this GUID instance (note the TI PC-1520 cardbus controller is installed)

Any help would be appreciated

Mike

Look under LX Drivers.

Good luck!

thanks for the info Dave.

I've reinstalled XP and added the new drivers. Everything works except BtnAgent. I created a folder and xfered all the files from the zipped file, then tried to run the BtnAgent.exe. It still displays the same error message No SP_interface_Data.....

any ideas?

cheers
Mike

You can't run the program until you have the drivers installed. Look in the device manager for an unknown device with a hardware ID of "ASIM0000" (in the 366LX). Once the driver is installed correctly there will be an entry in the 'system devices' catagory called "Microsoft BIOS Simulator" or "DT Research BIOS Simulator"

I suspect you have neither. You must get that installed with the btnagent drivers you downloaded above. If it's installed properly it will put the btnagent.exe program into the autostart on every boot up.

There is a different BTNAGENT for the 366, 360 and 368. The newer 360 with the 1.8" drive can run the button manager service like in the 310 - it's more flexible.

Good luck.
