Slitaz. It is a mini linux distribution like puppy or Damn small linux but the good news is it keeps it's kernel up to date. It loads on my desktop much faster than puppy. It doesn't have a penmount package availible but it I recall there is a driver called  PenMount for Linux GPM.

The distro comes with tazwok a command line tool to configure and compile a package from source which if I recall PenMount for Linux GPM is. With the upto date kernel there is some promise. The big thing is will it load on the Webdt 366. It has xvesa. I will assume that it works and I will test it when I get my Dt back in a few weeks but if anyone is interested load it up and check it out: http://www.slitaz.org/. I think this will be a speedy distro.

SliTaz is an open source and free operating system providing a fully featured desktop or server in less than 30 Mb. SliTaz is simple to use, fast and stable. More information ....
Did I read that correctly? Less than 30MB? Tiny Core will boot up on the WebDT, however it's one of the bare-bone OSes that you can have extreme control over. This looks promising, I'm downloading it now.

I haven't tested it on my dt. Got it loaned out at the moment but on my AMD64x2 it loaded in about 20 seconds from usb.  It's got an up to date kernel and I think it uses alien to convert  other packages to it's packages. If I recall it claims some debian compatibility.

Confirmed working on my WebDT. However, it won't detect the Aironet 350 Card, but it detects my 2GB CF Card, the IDE Flash and sound and related stuff.

it will take a little bit of hacking but I think it can be done.

Did you ever get Slitaz working? I have it working quite well on a Compaq Armada M300 laptop with similar specs to the WebDTs. As usual, the touch screen will be the challenge... I am going to try shortly...
