Maybe a linux distro can be made custom for the web dt with an installer

Maybe.. I can't do it. I lack alot of in depth skill with Linux. There have been a few ways images have been created specifically for the webdt. I thought though there must be a tool for really stripping down linux to make a custom build and maybe even with an installer. I looked around at various distros looking and hoping to find a builder. I looked around and I don't know if anyone else found it but:
http://www.gnewsense.org/Builder/Builder

Now it's set up to work with ubuntu. Some of the other dts work with ubuntu but the 366 don't. I think the builder can be modified to work (or perhaps works out of the box) with debian. I think it can be used to modify very specifically a debian distro with an installer. I can't do this myself but I thought perhaps some elses eyes would run across this that both had the time, patience, and skill to do it. Also I would like to use this thread for the purpose of posting anywork anyone has done on this effort and post any info about any other customization tools anyone has found.

Also it would be desirable to find any free software that would offer a visual means of transferring an image over to the dt. DD is great, fine and wonderful but it will beyond some people skill set to use in transferring images over to the DT. Something like ghost.
I had previously tried clonezilla but it didn't work. One thing that I have found is Mondo rescue. If I understand what I have read this may very well be used as an installer for the distros that have been created thus far. It really just needs to be tested. Anyone with a copy of linux that would be willing to test it heres the wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mondo_Rescue

here's the website to get it: http://www.mondorescue.org/

someone might also test partimage: http://www.partimage.org/Main_Page

or systemrescuecd: http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page

as an alternative way to transfer linux to the dt
