Take a look here: http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?top ... icseen#new
Seems like DT were using "special" flash drive, so we cant use any other. Some guy on that forum can get You original flashes for some $$$

darkcirca, that sounds very reasonable but I was kind of hoping for something more like 4GB. Do you know if the following would work?
http://cpumall.com/able/details.asp?item=DM43DOM4G-AP
If not, what is the part number on your 1GB version that you know to work, perhaps we can see if there are larger versions out there for a reasonable price.
With these horizontal flash cards there is obviously two types 90 and 270 (rare) do we know which we need for the DT?
Thanks,
Dave.

Firstly,
I think it may make sense to make a Hardware Hacks section to the website, this discussion is not really windows or Linux related.
Now on to flash...
Thinking of this, CF is IDE, its just a matter of mapping the correct pins.
http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/IDE ... _schematic
Thus to replace the internal flash with CF card it may be possible to use something like this.
http://www.buy.com/prod/startech-com-id ... caid=17988
Now, If there is room in the case, you could unsolder the existing connector and put on a low profile 44 pin female connector.
