Very interesting. but as always I have a few questions.

Did you have to file down the connector to make a good contact?
Does the case still close?
Which exact model of CF adapter did you get and from where?
Have you done any performance tests on the card? If so what speeds do you get?

Thanks,

Dave.

It's just looks nice but no contact with very short pins on the MOBO. Case cannot be closed after that.  Oh well...

Also you will notice your flash module is the wrong way up. The triangle by the connector is pin 1 you will notice on the DT366 pin 1 is on the Left so you would need to rotate the module 180 degrees even if you could make good contacts.

I shredded plastic off 44 pin connector to expose metal part, clean it and plugged in. Still not finding disk. I am thinking CF-IDE is 5V.  There are still other components on mobo that are in the way.  Next I try suggestion from sunny voip of using 44pin cable.

doent he 44 pin  and havnt been able to get it to work correctly  may need to check the pinout and make sure its standard 44 pin layout . When i connected my zif to 44 pin adapter it poped my 1.8" hsd and burned the cable.

Yes, CF module sticks down as David suggested and you confirmed. Still no luck in OS recognizing as 4GB disk. I think the module itself is too heavy to stay on correct position and stay in good contact with mobo pins.  Well let's give 44pin cable a try may be it will hold.

I got 44pin female-female cables and tried out with SDHC - 44pin ide adapter with no luck.   It looks like SDHC is 5V adapter the adapter has 5V LED stays on when 366 is running but 366 not recognizing the SDHC disk.

I finally got 44pin CF and it does not seem to work with 44pin cable. XP installer does not recognize disk. I suspect same with BIOS.

Ive done a similar mod using a 44 pin IDE cable. Im still waiting for my 44 pin to CF adapter, when it comes in expect some info from me.

I decided to benchmark a 44 pin IDE to SD adapter, I keep getting IRQ timeouts. Not sure if I should blame the mod, my cable, or the SD IDE adapter. The BIOS detects the card, but Windows wont, and linux complains a lot.

I also tried to use a 1.8" IDE adapter, the onboard IDE bus doesnt have enough amperage to run the drive.

Yes, I had to sand down the IDE cable. When I know its working, expect tutorials.

Not anymore, the pins in the header on the cable broke. I am working on a PCB design that should be more reliable. I think I might have found a native connector we can use to make an adapter or gender bender. More info on this as it unfolds.
