I give up... Lucent Orinoco Classic Gold (Proxim 8410-WD)

Post by vin »

Hi,
The only thing I want to use the tablet for is playing Go with people in Japan...

My DT366 is on winCE 5.00. I need wireless internet (does not need to be fast). I can not get a winCE 5.0 driver for my Lucent Orinoco Classic Gold (Proxim 8410-WD).

What can I do?
1. Can I get the Proxim 8410-WD to work with winCE 5?
2. If I get a Cisco Aironet 350 AIR-PCM352, can I get a driver?
3. Can I load winCE 4? I have a Proxim 8410-WD driver for win CE 4.
4. Is there a better option?

Thanks,
Vin

Is there anyone I can send it to to get LINUX installed?

Hi again,

Would Nimblex be a solution for using the Orinoco Gold?

Thanks,
Vin

Good morning,

Does Nimblex support the touch screen? Go would is not as fun with a mouse...

Is there a way to install the winCE 4 drivers manually in winCE 5?
Could this possibly work?

Thanks,
Vin

I can't comment on forcing winCE drivers.  The NimbleX USB image does support the touch screen.  Try it, it does take a while to boot, but it is very usable.

Good morning,

Nimblex sounds good, but before I wipe winCE is there a tutorial on "forcing" winCE drivers?

Thanks,
Vin

Sorry again I am not sure on the WinCE drivers.

You can run NimbbleX from USB without changing your internal drive.  It is a live environment.
