Re: Battery Internal
Hi Ron, You must have an internal battery that can a charge at least 1% in order for the external battery to be used. If the internal battery is dead, your external battery will not be used. Again, the internal battery does not need to work well, just work a little. You didn't mention the model you ...

Re: WebDT 166 as freenas server
That looks like a good card and it will fit in the mPCI slot. Be sure to report back on how it works out as that is the same setup as the later DT366LX, DT360, DT310 and maybe other models. They all use that mPCI slot paired with the GEODE LX processor. I have a manual for the DT166 but it's in Germ...

Re: WebDT 166 as freenas server
Instead of FREENAS use Puppy Linux. Use v4.31 'small' edition - it's about 99k in size.. You can add TWONKY for your media server - it will work great. Since Puppy Linux will run entirely in RAM with 512mb or more, it will be fast too. You can also load VNC server on the 166 and control that from yo...

Re: WebDT 166 as freenas server
The WLAN card is a mini-PCI type and later models usually come with the Atheros CM9 card. Later models are the DT168 motherboard in the DT166 case. Earlier models came with the Intel 2915 or 2200 card. All three can be found on EBAY for around $5us and all three preform well. The Atheros CM9 would b...

Re: DT366 - auto car charger
If you were to buy an auto power supply from DTR back when these tablets were new, they would have sold you a LIND model XN1235-797. http://www.lindelectronics.com These are regulated 12v output power supplies. They are of excellent quality. I have been running one continuous for four years. The che...

Re: Dt310 Bios
I agree. A USB keyboard and mouse will let you log in and see what the issue is. If the touch screen still will not work then it could be that you have some corrupt files from when it locked up. It could be that when you were downloading that you ran over the temp files limit - it's usually around o...

Re: Trying to restore my webdt device
These MSRs are just dumb devices that send the data from the swipe down the serial port. POS software interfaces to MSRs in two ways. First and most popular is a direct connect on the com port. Make sure your POS software is in the "direct" mode. The second way is the "wedge" mod...

Re: Trying to restore my webdt device
The last place I look is at DT Research but here is their support manual.
http://www.dtresearch.com/support/user_ ... manual.pdf
It's the same as the last sections of the other manuals since they are the same device.

Re: Trying to restore my webdt device
The stock MSR on a DT310 uses COM2: There is no driver needed. In your POS software, just tell it the MSR is on COM2. I used google to find the manual for the stock MSR device: http://www.partner.com.tw/support/wma/MSR250HK/MSR250_Manual.pdf and this one: http://www.comx-computers.co.za/download/pos...

Check these pics of the DT366 from the forum. http://webdt.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1030 In the first picture, you will see a small board to the right of the battery. The size is approximately .75" x 1.5". Be careful removing it, the pins bend easily and break even easier if you ...

Re: Dt310 Bios
I don't know what ports are active on your device. I only know that you want additional storage. Without additional data on the tablet configuration I can only tell you to use a USB flash drive. The USB ports are always active unlike some of the other ports.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
