oh, but i did confirm the dd thing. I created a FAT32 partition and then imaged the drive. When I rebooted, it was Linux 83.

Fails to boot.

I get the grub screen, and it begins booting, then the screen dies and I have to hold the power button in for 10 seconds to get it to shut off.

I wonder if I should try rerunning the dd command.
