Hm, interesting concept.
But hasn't Ghost already got this in spades? I choose Ghost's FAST/HIGH compression options, then I ultra-7z the GHO file using 7zip on my Windows 7 rig, and that compresses it even more.
Still, I'll give it a go.

Re: PCMCIA or USB to Ethernet network card?
Yes, where I used to work has a LAN to USB Adapter that can do 10/100Mbps speeds.
You can pick them off eBay, it's called a LAN to USB Adapter. Should work with USB 1.1.

Sounds like a non-chargable battery. Lithium Ion batteries do lose capacity over time.

Re: Would anyone like a ghost image of MicroXP for WebDT 366?
I haven't been able to get suspend to work, I think a driver is causing XP to not go to sleep. Hiberation doesn't seem to come up as an option, maybe the BIOS doesn't support it (it requires a APM bios or ACPI bios...) This ghost image that I'm currently creating now has got USB Drivers, Internet Ex...

Would anyone like a ghost image of MicroXP for WebDT 366?
I'm willing to provide a ghost image of MicroXP on the WebDT 366 that I prepared myself, that has about 200-220MB Free Space on C: Drive, and runs like the wind (until you start installing apps). Trust me, I'm not a person that would rip people off. I honestly prepared the image by myself, and I can...

Re: Would it be possible?
You could, but you'd have to install a boot loader (syslinux or GRUB?) first. You'd have access to onboard flash of course (it'll come up as /dev/hda). If you dd a copy of an installed linux from the Internal Flash to USB, it will boot, but it possibly will use the internal flash installation as the...

Tips for making WebDT Linux Distro - CUT DOWN THE FAT!
My tips, tricks and methods for making a distro on older hardware: 1. Disable unwanted gettys. Edit /etc/inittab and comment out the lines that say tty2 to tty6. 2 terminals are enough for a tablet PC 2. Replace the default shell that users login with with pdksh, dash or some other shell. Dash and ...

Re: Mio Pocket 3.0
It may be coded for a different type of CPU... Our Windows CE is X86. Most MIO devices are either ARM or MIPS types.... If that's the case, too bad... Unless you wanna recompile the code for X86!
