Re: Installing Microsoft Windows on WebDT366
Try reading the instructions and through the forum. NLITE will reduce XP to under 300mb and that makes it fit in your 500mb flash drive. I have done it many, many times.
Or try PUPPY LINUX - you can have great luck with that too. Read the forum for info on that too.
Good luck!

Re: Installing Microsoft Windows on WebDT366
Micro XP is Microsoft XP PRO but it's been trimmed down so much that it takes a lot of work to get it going CORRECTLY on the DT366. You can make your own trimmed down copy of XP with a tool called NLITE ( http://www.nliteos.com/ ). There are a lot of discussions on this forum about it - check it out...

Re: Installing Microsoft Windows on WebDT366
You can't run WIN98 on a DT366. If you have a GX processor then use Windows CE. If you have the LX processor then use Windows XP Embedded. There are versions of Windows XP that have been trimmed down that can also be run. You have to search the web for XP LITE or MICROXP and download one of those ha...

Re: Stock DT310 Price?
You can buy one for $50 or so as pulled from service off EBAY. These usually require a little work but nothing hard - just replace batteries and clean it up. For $50 you get a 1GB flash drive and XP Embedded. $200 is what I sell them for completely refurished with new batteries, stylus, rubber guard...

Re: bios setup
You can not reinstall the OS from the BIOS. You must reinstall the OS from an external storage device like a CD or USB flash drive. You may be able to fix this error. The LSASS is the logon security routine and since the error is saying 'object not found', I would suspect the GINA files are missing....

Re: WebDT 310
So......... you bought a DT310 tablet off EBAY - now what??? Well, it's good news and bad news. The good news - it's most likely working. The bad news - you have more money to spend. First, some do not come with a power supply. Figure another $15 there from EBAY. GET A WELL REGULATED ONE RATED AT 12...

Re: WebDT 360 internal battery and other issues
Hi John, You do not trim pins on this model. Do not cut out pin 44. This model tablet has four ports available for storage. First is the 44 pin IDE interface you can see on the back of your tablet. This is where you would connect the flash drive - also known as DOM. You must purchase the correct mod...

Re: WebDT 360 internal battery and other issues
The best place where you can get a legal image is at a repair shop as part of a repair or upgrade. Search the web for a service shop close to you. You can also buy the SSD from a DT Research dealer as an "upgrade" with the OS already installed. I can't find a part number but they use to se...

Re: WebDT 360 internal battery and other issues
New battery here: (lots of dealers online) - search for TPMC-8X battery. http://www.ebay.com/itm/200627893760 Any mPCI (mini-PCI) WIFI card will work - this one works very well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/220799192170 This one does 300mbs - so they claim (get the drivers!): http://www.ebay.com/itm/1807...

Re: WebDT 166 as freenas server
UDMA33 is about the best you can ever see. Windows 7 is not compatible with the Geode processor. If you want Windows, use XP or 2K and it will work fine. I think you are expecting more than these 7-10 year old devices can deliver. I use my DT166s for dedicated services. I use two for MagicJack VOIP ...

Re: Help !!!!! Web DT Newbie
You need to set the BIOS to boot off the USB stick. There are several detailed explanations posted here but basically: Plug in a real USB keyboard - not one on an adapter Power up the tablet ans start tapping the F1 key - about once per second until you enter the set up. Choose USB Hard Drive as the...

Re: Battery Internal
Well, I see you discovered your mistake. That battery has the wrong connector and it setup for pulse charging from the 360/310 models. I tried to convert one to the 366 a while back with some limited success. Since you have a blown internal pack, cut it open. There are four cells inside - same as th...
