Voltage isn't everything. What power/current rating did your 12V power supply have? You'll probably need at least 1 amp.
There's a product brief here: http://dtri.sg1002.myweb.hinet.net/pdf/webdt220.pdf, maybe the same website has some other info lurking within....

Re: Complete Image of Puppy 4.3.1 including Penmount drivers and hardware buttons
Please tell me about shutdown behavior. After a power-off via Menu, the system does not fully halt. I am left with a black screen with "saving to.....to file.." I have to use power off button. Is this normal? Hmmm.. it seems you are right.... The shutdown seems to hang... It first say...

Re: Do you have a DT Tablet you would sell?
I think someone may have mentioned elsewhere that the WebDT won't run from the external battery pack unless there is also an internal battery present. Does your WebDT have an internal battery that holds any charge at all? If you're handy with a soldering iron, you might consider constructing your ow...

Re: Complete Image of Puppy 4.3.1 including Penmount drivers and hardware buttons
The current behaviour of the suspend-to-ram doesn't wake up the wireless card when resuming. I fixed this by making a script in my /root/my-applications/bin called "suspendandwake" #!/bin/sh sync acpitool -s source /etc/rc.d/rc.network What it does is the usual suspend (using acpitool) but...

Complete Image of Puppy 4.3.1 including Penmount drivers and hardware buttons
I have battled with a puppy and won... You can download a complete 'dd' disk image of Puppy Linux 4.3.1 for WebDT from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6X1XQ74F Alternatively, if you have already succeeded in installing Puppy Linux 4.3.1 to your WebDT in 'frugal' mode (ie: your Puppy has saved a p...

Re: WORKING Penmount touchscreen on Puppy Linux 4.3.1
I went back to using the full install and having puppy load to ram. The front panel buttons were easy to link... You can either create the .Xmodmap in your root drive and/or edit the /root/.jwm/jwmrc-personal key bindings. I went ahead and bound some keys. The image is ready to upload. I'm going to ...

Re: WORKING Penmount touchscreen on Puppy Linux 4.3.1
I have the both the penmount and the hardware buttons working now. All it took was a reinstall (although I chose a couple of different options this time... no ram boot and save to a pup.2fs file). When I get a few more moments I will map some of the buttons (using your HOWTO post) and upload an imag...

Re: WORKING Penmount touchscreen on Puppy Linux 4.3.1
I'm not sure that the penmount install is to blame... If you examine the contents of the penmount 'install.sh' script you'll see that it only copies the driver to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input and sets the pm-setup program to run at boot-time. (although, that said, I know it makes changes to /etc/X11/...

Re: WebDT 366 - Load default settings
Tap madly on the F1 key to enter bios. Careful - the F1 key also displays the help, and you have no way of telling... so I'm suggesting that you tap keys multiple times to dismiss the help... So.... 1) Tap F1 madly. After 30 secs you should be in BIOS 2) Tap the 'L' key a few times... this will Load...

Hmmm... Sorry that it hasn't gone smoothly for you. Any minor glitches in an install I tend to fix without really thinking about it, so I can't help you sorry. I will refresh my install either tonight or tomorrow, make a better step-by-step, and upload a 'dd' disk image to make the process much easi...

Recommended Firefox Plugin - "Grab And Drag"
Hi there, Hopefully some of you have a mozilla-based browser installed on your WebDT. I have just found a great plugin that allows you to scroll the screen by dragging anywhere - somewhat like an iPhone or other touchscreen phone. http://grabanddrag.mozdev.org/ I'm running puppy linux, and I have to...

Re: WORKING Penmount touchscreen on Puppy Linux 4.3
I have a suggestion that might fix your troubles. If this doesn't work for you then I will erase my install and start afresh, taking better notes. I suspect that your puppy didn't install fully. It has this funny system of 'sfs' files that are meant to unpack themselves at boot time. Unfortunately, ...

Re: WORKING Penmount touchscreen on Puppy Linux 4.3
Actually - I've gotten the buttons to respond now.
I added 'acpi=force' to the kernel boot options in 'extlinux.conf'
Now, when I run 'xev' I get button codes 67, 68, 69, 70 from the front buttons. The D-pad gives 71, 72 (Up, Down) 73, 74 (Left, Right).
Good news?
